GST Winchester : The Grand Skate & Cycle

The Grand Skate Tour presents.. The Grand Skate & Cycle 2024!

With support from Cycle Winchester and Cycling Rebellion, we will join together for a fun-filled procession around the city.

Starting at the Leisure Centre, heading across town out to Abbots Barton and back in to finish at the Abbey Gardens!

Don't miss this fantastic event and the joy that comes from taking over the city streets on self-powered wheels.

Our supporting groups are working hard to promote safe, active, green travel and are campaigning for safer roads and encouraging more people to get active and get involved! Since skating fits with this ethos, we felt the need to support them in their efforts and show that safe skate travel is a need too!

Make some noise and lets draw some attention!

Attend at your own risk. Roads and traffic will be marshalled and blocked where possible for attendee safety. Follow the instructions of the marshals and help to keep everyone safe. 

Skater ability should be at least intermediate. Cyclists should be competent on the roads. Children under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.

Distance is 5miles at 5 to 8mph. The pack will be kept together as much as possible, with short pauses for everyone to catch up and catch their breath if needed and when safe to do so. 

Attendance is free with no registration required.

Meet at 4.30pm for safety briefing, ready to roll out at 5pm prompt.

If driving to the event, please consider parking in the Barfield Park and Ride opposite the Leisure Centre to avoid taking spaces from users of the centre. Parking charges apply.
