The Grand Skate Tour is delighted to announce the dates for the 2024 season, after many months of planning and preparation!
Our opening event will be in Portsmouth on Saturday 24th February, the birth-place of GST and a fantastic city to explore on skates due to its flat terrain and its well-lit smooth roads.
Opening the day at 1pm will be skating lessons provided by London Skate Life at Wimbledon Park Sport Centre. Choose from the beginners class to get you up and gain control or the advanced class to learn slides. You'll need your own skates and protective equipment.
Following on at 2pm until 4pm is the Roller Disco. All abilities are welcome to join in. Cost is £7 on the door, or book in advance here for £6 > https://www.thegrandskatetour.com/event-details-registration/gst-portsmouth-roller-disco/ticket-form
For those with basic skate skills and above, join us for a street skate around Southsea of approximately 3 miles. This will be a marshalled skate at the pace of the slowest skater. As long as you can stop, turn and get up and down a few kerbs, you are welcome to join for free.
The evening will bring even more excitement, where there will be a jamming session outside the D-Day Story museum, where you can dance on skates and enjoy the great vibes. Or for the more advanced skaters among you, join the GST Street Skate, where we will cover a distance of around 10miles around the city of Portsmouth, enjoying the music and pleasing the crowds! For this you will need to have a good level of proficiency, have good control and confident to tackle a few hills or obstacles. The pace is fast and you'll need to keep up with the group, so get your training going now! ;)
